I Hate My Body

Let’s be real — almost everyone has looked in the mirror and thought, “If I could just change this one thing about myself…” But hating your body doesn’t make it change — it just makes you feel worse.
So many teens — girls, guys, and everyone in between — struggle with body image. Social media doesn’t help. Filters, angles, and “perfect” bodies are everywhere. It’s easy to start comparing yourself and think you don’t measure up. But here’s the thing: most of what you see online isn’t real. It’s lighting, editing, and posing — not reality.
Your body tells your story. It carries you through laughter, heartbreak, sports, late-night snacks, and every single goal you chase. That’s worth more than any number on a scale or how defined your abs are.
It’s okay to have days when you don’t feel confident. Everyone does. But what matters most is how you talk to yourself on those days. Instead of saying, “I hate my body,” try, “My body deserves kindness.” Instead of hiding from photos, remember that memories matter more than “perfect” pictures.
Confidence doesn’t come from changing how you look — it comes from accepting who you are. The next time you catch yourself picking apart your reflection, pause and thank your body for showing up for you. Because it has — every single day.
